How we work

You are handing us your character — often the only one you have. That is a lot to ask of people you do not know. So here is what we do, before you have to ask.

From enquiry to the end of the booking

1

Enquiry

You send the date, the location and the type of event. We work from that — you get a concrete figure, not a follow-up question.

2

Agreeing the character

How does your character behave? Does it speak, or stay silent? What does it not do? If there is a character guide, we work to it. If there is not, we put the essentials in writing beforehand.

3

Run of show

Appearance blocks laid out along your programme, with breaks in between. Plus: where the changing room is, who is reachable on site, how we get to the costume. You have it in writing before we travel.

4

The event day

We arrive before the first appearance slot, check the costume for damage and change out of sight. The character is never seen without its head.

5

During the performance

A handler keeps the path clear and manages photo requests. Performance and break times are kept to, even when things are going well — inside the costume it is considerably warmer than outside and visibility is poor.

6

Afterwards

After every booking we sanitise the costume — alcohol misting, a short dry with ventilation. That is always included, not an add-on. On request, a short condition report as well: what has taken a beating, and what should be repaired soon.

What we need from you

Why out of sight: a mascot without its head destroys the character for anyone who sees it. So we never change where guests can look, and we take breaks out of view as well.
